COME IN. BE MOVED.

Frida Kahlo: Blood and Gold
Saturday, November 21st
11:30am & 1:30pm
at the Tucson Botanical Gardens
This November, ZUZI! Dance returns to Frida Kahlo: Blood and Gold, the work that first premiered at ZUZI! Dance Theater in 2012, and brings it into the open air of the Tucson Botanical Gardens for two performances in a single day.
Conceived and choreographed by ZUZI! Cofounder and Artistic Director Nanette Robinson, Blood and Gold takes Kahlo's life and paintings as its source and its subject, translating a body of work known for its color, its pain, and its unflinching self-regard into movement. It is danced by a cast of nine and scored live by three musicians, the two working in collaboration rather than accompaniment, so that the music and the movement arrive together as one account of a single extraordinary life.
